The LLC Behavior and Sexual Misconduct Policy video must be viewed by ALL STAFF (directors, teachers, and counselors).
It is your duty as a director to ensure all staff have viewed this, and it can be found at the following link:
If you were unable to attend the confirmation staff workshop for the season, please review this recording.
Plan for approximately 1 counselor for every 5 students. Core staff are not counselors.
It is recommended that Confirmation counselors have previous experience and be at least 18 years old.
We are required to have reference checks documented for all camp staff working with minors. Please complete reference checks for any counselor you plan to ask to serve at camp, and save the responses in Google Drive under Counselor Applications > Reference Checks.
Please document the following for any phone calls:
your name
reference's name
counselor applicant's name
date called
summary of conversation
Here are two email templates you may also use to conduct reference checks.
After selecting the staff you'd like to serve at your camp, contact them to confirm their availability.
If they respond saying they can work at your camp, add them to your final staff list and send them a welcome message.
Once your staff list is confirmed, reach out to applicants who will not serve at camp and inform them that all staff positions have been filled.
Please use the camp agenda template to ensure accuracy and consistency at each camp.
There are two templates: Please fill out the 10-page version, which will be printed out for use in booklet format. The spreadsheet version may be helpful for outlining your camp agenda.
To make a copy of the agenda template for your camp’s use, open the folder or the file and select "Download".
Please send your completed agenda to the seasonal Camp Assistant (camp.assistant@llchurch.org) once it is complete, at least 1 month prior to camp.
Staff Meeting - The staff meeting times listed on the agenda template are scheduled to ensure there is enough time to cover all necessary information before campers arrive.
Concessions - Seasonal camp workers noticed that if concessions were not listed on the printed agenda, campers were more likely to eat the nutritious meals served during mealtimes. Instead, concession times may be decided during the Staff Meeting. Previously, it has worked well to open the concessions during the midday recreation.
Evening Activities - Planning multiple activities for one evening may cause the evening to run later than planned. It is recommended to plan just one activity per evening (e.g. counselor-led activity, candlelight discussion).

A scriptural theme is chosen each year for the camp season. This year's campwork theme can be found at the top of the Home page.
Some suggestions to incorporate this theme into your camp include:
Discussion during the Staff Meeting
Use as the text for a devotion
Incorporate into a lesson if the topic is related

When your camp has concluded, watch for an email from the LLC with links to your Wage & Expense Form and an Evaluation Form. Please fill these out as soon as possible after camp is over. The wage & expense form will allow you to request payment for your time at camp, and the evaluation form helps us to improve. Bring any thoughts and feedback with you when you fill out this form. Thank you for serving at camp!
