The LLC Behavior and Sexual Misconduct Policy video must be viewed by ALL STAFF (directors, teachers, and counselors).
It's your duty as a director to ensure all staff have viewed this, and it can be found at the following link:
If you were unable to attend the director workshop for the season, please review this recording.
Plan for approximately 1 counselor for every 5 students. Core staff are not counselors.
5th and 6th grade camps:
Consider selecting counselors who are at least 3 grades ahead of the students. These camps are best staffed by counselors who have previously worked at one or more camps. Counselors should be responsible and excited to serve the campers.
7th grade camps:
These camps are best staffed by counselors who have previously worked at one or more camps. For working with 7th grade camps, counselors should be mature and ideally at least 18 years old. Exceptions could be considered in certain circumstances.
Here is a template you may use to conduct reference checks for your potential counselors.

After selecting the staff you'd like to serve at your camp, contact them to confirm their availability.
If they respond saying they can work at your camp, add them to your final staff list and send them a welcome message.
Once your staff list is confirmed, reach out to applicants who will not serve at camp and inform them that all staff positions have been filled.
Please use the camp agenda template to ensure accuracy and consistency at each camp. Items highlighted in yellow should remain unchanged. All other sections may be adjusted to better suit your specific camp's needs.
To make a copy of the agenda template for your camp’s use, click on the arrow at the top right of the document. Then, click on the download button at the top of the screen.
Please send your completed agenda to the seasonal Camp Assistant (camp.assistant@llchurch.org) once it is complete, at least 1 month prior to camp.
Note to teachers: Please prepare your lessons prior to camp. This allows opportunity for relationships to form between fellow staff and students.
To view the Sunday School curriculum for your grade, click on the arrow in the top right corner of the displayed document to open it in a new window. These will be used to plan your lessons for camp.

Directors & Teachers
Note: If you have a teacher at your camp, they will help find material for camp and help teach lessons.
When your camp has concluded, watch for an email from the LLC with links to your Wage & Expense Form and an Evaluation Form. Please fill these out as soon as possible after camp is over. The wage & expense form will allow you to request payment for your time at camp, and the evaluation form helps us to improve. Bring any thoughts and feedback with you when you fill out this form. Thank you for serving at camp!
